Tunes is located geographically in the center of the Algarve, between the coast (Albufeira) and the Barrocal (S. Bartolomeu de Messines / S. Marcos da Serra) and, Tunes-Gare, is a structural railroad junction because it converges the line of the South and the line of the Algarve, linking the Algarve to the rest of the country. It is served by excellent road access, since the IP1 passes near the town which, at 4 / 5 km, allows access to the A22 (Via do Infante) and the EN 125 or, at 9 km, the A1 (Algarve freeway).
